Goodnightly ("Goodnightly," "we," "us," or "our") is a service operated by JLab AI LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Goodnightly is a subscription service that delivers a personalized bedtime story for your child by email each evening.

By using Goodnightly or providing us your information, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Who this service is for

Goodnightly is intended for parents and guardians who are at least 18 years old. The account holder is the adult who subscribes and provides information. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or submit information to us directly.

Information we collect

Information you provide as the parent or guardian:

• Your email address
• Your subscription plan, status, preferred story delivery time, and time zone
• Payment information, which is collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full card number.

Information you provide about your child (to personalize the stories):

• The child's first name
• An age range (for example, 2–3, 4–5, 6–8, or 9+)
• Interests (for example, dinosaurs, soccer, the ocean)
• A pet's name (optional)
• Optional context about the child's week (optional)

We deliberately keep this minimal. We do not ask for a child's last name, home address, photograph, phone number, email address, or precise location.

Information collected automatically:

• Limited technical information such as IP address and basic request logs, used to prevent abuse and rate-limit our free-story feature
• Delivery and engagement records (for example, that a story was generated and sent)

How we use information

We use the information to:

• Generate and deliver personalized stories to you by email
• Create, manage, and bill your subscription
• Respond to your requests and provide support
• Protect the service against fraud, abuse, and technical problems
• Improve the quality and safety of the stories we produce

How stories are generated

To create each personalized story, your child's first name, age range, interests, optional pet name, and optional weekly context are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate the text, and are run through an automated safety check before delivery. We do not use your child's information to train AI models.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information or your child's information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate Goodnightly, and only as needed to provide the service:

• Stripe — payment processing
• Resend — sending your story emails
• Airtable — storing your subscription and profile information
• Anthropic — generating story text
• Cloudflare — hosting, delivery, and abuse prevention
• FAL.ai — generating coloring-page images (for plans that include a coloring page)

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users or others.

Children's privacy

Goodnightly is directed to parents and guardians, not to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. The limited information about a child that we hold is provided by the parent or guardian to personalize stories.

If you are a parent or guardian and you would like to review, update, or delete the information associated with your child, contact us at the email below and we will act on your request. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a child in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, we will delete it.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your subscription is active and as needed to provide the service. If you cancel and request deletion, we will delete your personal and child profile information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, billing records) by law.

Your choices and rights

You may, at any time:

• Request a copy of the information we hold about you
• Update or correct your information
• Delete your information and close your subscription
• Unsubscribe from story emails using the link in any email, or by contacting us

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
